Here, The Guardians of Embrellon and their Skree Companions wage a battle against the invading Marn forces who wish to take them as slaves. Jason and Lantana, the twin children of James Whitlaw, Earth Expeditionary Force Marine Colonel, had been marooned twenty years earlier. Found in a cave by the Skree Regulus, the became bonded through a telepathic link and formed the Guardians.
