Sarah Beiler is frightened by the longing she feels when she watches the Englischers at the market every week. Their world seems so much more colorful, and full of adventure, than her life in the community. When Widow Bauman and her handsome son Daniel are welcomed into the community, Sarah learns that the widow's daughter ran away from their former community in Canada with an Englisch man. Sarah is horrified to think that her own longings might lead her down the same path, and one day she confesses as much to Daniel. Daniel admits that he, has been similarly tempted by the outside world, and their common confessions forge an immediate bond between them. But can they work together to get past temptation and fear, and grow in love for God and their community?
