Scion - the largest and most prosperous city in all of Nothramar - has been struck by a mysterious Un-plague. Like rats deserting a ship, the city's vermin have all but vanished. Is it a miracle? Or some sort of ill omen? Wose had only recently moved to Scion in order to complete his training as a Mage. But when his Elven sister is hired to investigate, he is drawn into the mystery. Along the way he meets Scion's stranger residents - a Dwarven Navigator, an Alchemist with a penchant for explosions, and a Goblin Rat-catcher. Together they must delve into the seedier aspects of the city, and uncover her darkest secrets.
