He knew the plans He had made for Israel and us from before the foundation of the world-to redeem mankind to Him. Therefore, He chose himself a people, who would get to know intimately who He was, and who would declare Him to the rest of the world. How could He better prepare them than to dwell among them? It has been said and proven that you can never really know a person until you live with them. Hence the sanctuary was to be built that God might live or dwell among them, in their own neighborhood. He wants to live with us today also.
