HURRAH FOR THE VALLEY II tells the story of the folks who lived in rural Coal Valley of Alabama. One former resident recollects that "everyone living in Coal Valley had one thing in common. Life was hard." The author recalls how in his early years, "Times were changing. The world was on the brink of war. A conflict that would threaten the lives and dreams of six brothers, and their sister. Yet, some things remained unchanged; the struggle to survive, the love of family, and the joy of playing baseball." Book II of Hurrah for the Valley portrays the excitement and challenges of being young in a changing world. Hurrah for the Valley II is a story of brotherhood. The characters were called hillbillies, and white trash. They should have been called survivors.
