As you read this book, you will be invited into parts of my life that I now call my testimony. When I look back over the years, I know that the one crucial element that held everything together was prayer. I remember my grandmother praying, when I was a little girl. I would hear her call on Jesus. At a very young age, I began to place great value on prayer. I knew that it got my grandmother through her worst times. I knew that she asked God to save us and keep His hand on all of us. I am so glad she loved us that much. To this day, I know that there is power in prayer. You will see that I strayed very far from God, but I still knew about prayer. God will accept us, just how we are. He never expects us to be perfect and this is for any stage of life. He doesn't expect us to be all cleaned up, when we come to Him. He is looking at the condition of our heart towards Him.
