"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). It is the evidence of those things that are not seen that are the hope of every Christian. We see the things we hope for by faith-and we already know what those things are: the day when Christ will put an end to sin and suffering; the day we are reunited with our loved ones that we lost through death; and the day we receive our blessed inheritance. But God wants more than that for us. We are not to live like people who are stuck in prison with a life sentence. God wants us to thrive, and enjoy the very atmosphere of heaven right here and now. Peace rules in the kingdom of heaven. The enjoyment of that peace is the privilege of every Christian.
