A fun & happy picture book for kids age 3 or younger. The pictures are large, bright & colorful. The words are big and easy to read. A great first book that kids will love. The history of my book "Happy" began in 1999. My daughter Kara Taylor was born in January of that year. Kara had health problems from the minute she was born, and nearly died at birth. She was born with a heart defect, and within 24 hours of being born she had to have emergency heart surgery. She was born in Orlando, and had to be immediately flown by helicopter to Tampa to see a surgeon that specialized in the type of condition that she had. He successfully completed the surgery, but Kara would need 3 additional surgery over the next 2 years. Unfortunately, Kara didn't live for another 2 years. She passed away in May. The loss of a child stays with you forever, and Kara stayed with me. The grief knocked me down for years. In 2011 I decided I wanted to channel that loss into something positive. My book "Happy" is the result. When I made the decision to write it, it was created as if I were writing it for Kara. The words are the words I would want to read to her if I had the chance. The process of writing this book has helped me deal with the loss. My hope is that it will bring happiness to other children, and to the parents that read it with them.
