Damantin didn't want to visit the Elf Kingdom. Who could blame him? Because of the misdeeds of a disgraced Äimite guard named Lord Jamarnid who was dutifully given the death penalty for a capital crime, his entire clan was exterminated 800 years ago, and the scant survivors including his father lived in exile ever since. All of that has changed ever since the new Elf King made the current clan leader Lord Adinjandanir a tempting offer: live in his humble palace along with Damantin for one entire year as his honored guests in the hopes they will relocate to their ancestral lands for good. While Adinjandanir is enjoying his time in the kingdom, the new Äimite commander Lord Garain has set his eyes on Damantin, believing he might murder his king. After being on the brink of death due to a misunderstanding with the guard, Damantin inevitably flees the kingdom and must make a difficult choice: to continue living a nomadic lifestyle without purpose, or join forces with the kingdom that murdered his people, and help Spaulding defeat Richard's arch-nemesis Leilandy who has threatened to claim Ayrtain as her own.
