Milo the Cat Parker Cartwright
Milo the Cat
Parker Cartwright
Milo is a cat who can talk to Sue. Sue doesn't think this is normal. Nor does her psychiatrist. Mr. Invisible thinks it's normal, but Mr. Invisible is a psychotic antibody obsessed with finding a Lost City of Gold and screwing everybody he can find. That, and killing people. He enjoys that. There's a clown that haunts the cat's life also; just the omnipresent threat of tragic evil. Nothing too crazy. And then there's Nial, Milo's cat brother. His friend committed suicide so he takes a lot of drugs to combat that. Milo fails but Milo loves Sue. Mr. Invisible fails but he loves Sue. And Sue kills herself because of them both. Milo the Cat is an experimental book in regards to form and narrative. It captures the essence of flash fiction in its structure while it's narrative revolves around the emotive punch rather than a linear plot. It's a humorous, yet bleak story of love, companionship, failure, and trying to make sense of a terrible world.
