Gordon Hill was five when he fell in love with football. He quickly learned that he had the attitude and determination to become a real force in the game. From his time playing on a muddy field as a young child to playing in a stadium as a member of the San Diego Chargers, Gordon's career was anything but predictable. He always had the raw talent to make it far, but the challenges he faced took more than physical ability. Instead, Gordon shows how the trials in his life shaped his work ethic, emotional maturity, and appreciation for his family, friends, and supporters.



Gordon structures his memoir in three parts. He begins with his early childhood and the lessons he learned from his pint-sized rivals and teammates. Gordon then transitions to discussing his high school career. The last section examines his college career at Sacred Heart University and his current life.



Gordon shows how football led to amazing opportunities and strong friendships. He wants to thank everyone in the "village" who helped him become the man he is today.
