The sum of the book is this: The LORD revealed to me that we have turned from Him for healing and turned to the things that man have made with their hands to cure us, but it's not possible. I have never considered medications to be an idol until today. No amount of medications can heal us from the things we are up against in this world. Medications are like bandaids, they just truly cover up or mask what's going on underneath them. For example, let's say we have a deep wound that just won't stop bleeding. If I put a regular bandaid on it and fail to do anything else, guess what that deep wound is going to continue to bleed from the under the bandaid. The bandaid may cover the wound, but it didn't fix the problem. The problem is, I have a gaping or wide open wound underneath that bandaid that needs more attention. I have to do something to close up the gape or wide opening. The wound has to be sutured, glued, or pulled together using some kind of element to alleviate the gape. Once the gape is fixed, the bleeding will stop, and the healing process will began. Let's say the problem is depression and the bandaid is Prozac. You can treat the symptoms of depression, but healing which is deliverance in this case will not occur until we reach the root of the problem.
