The two main characters, Walt and Winnie, discover a collection of old books in Granny's attic. They decide to modernise them, producing a new set of books called 'Wondrous Words'. The book contains 500 important English words for children to learn. It is divided into 10 sections of 50 words, each section with a different fun theme with fifty fully illustrated pages.

The book is designed to help teachers and parents with vocabulary teaching. Students can use them individually, in pairs or as a class. It targets both native English speakers and children learning English as a foreign language.
