This is a Bible Study Journal that incorporates the "SOAPing" Bible Study Methods. The book of Colossians is another wonderful book written by the Apostle Paul. It describes Jesus to us and reminds us that the success of the church is not dependent on me or any one person in the church. Colossians 1:18 tells us that Jesus is the Head of the Church and that He is to have supremacy over her. This book also declares to us that discipleship is super important for all our members. In Colossians 1:28 he uses the word, "EVERYONE" when it comes to teaching and sharing God's wisdom. So, our church needs to make sure that we are purposefully helping each one of our members to reach maturity in Christ. There is something else that we can learn from this book, we need to be busy about God's work and not be lazy. To labor is not only a way of making a living here on earth, but it is the responsibility of every child of God. Colossians 1:29 tells us that we are to labor using the power of God and must not attempt to work through our own strength. Colossians is an awesome book! You are going to love it! Titus is being coupled with this book in this SOAPing series. Titus 1:5 was clear... He had "left us" here in the country to do the work He had designed for us. He also made it very clear in Titus 2:1 that we must remain committed to strong doctrine! Colossians will teach you much about Christ, while in Titus you will learn the importance of sound doctrine and what leaders in the church should be like. SOAP IT UP!!! Get in the WORD and STAY IN IT!!!
