When middle-aged wannabe sci-fi writer, Reuben Rudge receives another publisher's rejection letter, he drinks himself senseless and pens a raunchy sex novel, using a female nom-de-plume.

A publisher expresses interest, but Rudge fears a lack of credibility as the author of such unadultered BDSM smut. He recruits a complete stranger at his bus-stop, the young and streetwise Becky, to pose as the author.
