Travel in Central America may seem daunting but really there is much beauty there, friendly people, and so much history. As an archeologist, the Maya area continues to pull me like a magnet. I've returned ten times and I never stop learning. There are many well organized tours into the back country but Copan and its charming modern village of Copan Ruinas has become a comfortable second home. Enjoy the stories.
