Toby, moved to the Chicago area to start over with his wife, new born children and possibly learn more about his dad who used to work at the University, before he was murdered. Little did Toby know there was a dark secret; the NSA controls most of the University where he works. The reason the NSA is there, is researching and studying mind manipulation of other people's dreams, and spying on them through their eyes. One of Toby's son's is kidnapped, for his abilities. Now, the only chance Toby has of getting his son back is trusting a rogue hacker that helped kidnap his son in first place and for Toby to use his own mind hacking abilities. What's even more terrifying, a man named Adam Lorn shows up at the University who has visions of the future. He tells Toby, he's had visions of him being murdered, but has no idea when it will happen.
