This romantic story is based on the lives and times of "Whispering" Jack Smith, a famous radio broadcasting personality, and "Sweet" Peggy O' Neil. The author's family was close to both Jack and Peggy. One family member chauffeured for and played golf with Jack Smith. Another corresponded with Peggy O'Neil for more than twenty years. These close relationships resulted in stories that were passed down within the family over time. The author of this novel is a third generation relative (great nephew) of Jack Smith. After the passing of Jack Smith, most of his personal belongings were given to the author's father. Included were 16 mm home movies in canisters with Jack Smith's annotations, a complete collection of Jack Smith's recordings on seventy-eight records, a custom-made travel case, an assortment of miscellaneous jewelry, and a cigar box full of old notes. In 2005, the author discussed with his brothers his intent to write a novel about their Uncle Jack and Peggy O'Neil. Whenever the three surviving great nephews would meet, there would be discussion about what they remembered from the stories they had heard over the years. Additional research was done to refine this information. The result is the weaving of all of this into a novel entitled, Whispering Jack & Peggy 'O'. The FIRST EDITION of this book received multiple five star reviews. Create Space and the Author endeavored to maintain that excellence in this SECOND EDITION while substantially reducing both paper book and Kindle prices. Please let us know what you think.
