*Search for Deja's Eternity*, is Volume 2 of The Sojourner Series. Deja', a mythical grey female terrier, a companion of the various protagonists, male and female, as they appear, interact, disappear, and return over time, distance, and circumstance returns. She is, perhaps, a curious echo of Holmes' Doctor Watson. Although each episode stands alone, it is nevertheless a part of Deja's journey. On occasion, it may seem that she has a dual existence, but, it is merely an illusion in the space-time continuum of the reader's twisted psychic. . . . Late autumn some years prior, Porter was backpacking at Monitor Pass, which is located in the Sierra some fifty odd miles south of Lake Tahoe. After reaching the Pass, he set up camp near an alpine vernal pond, its annual wildflowers and creatures now gone. On depart, those flowers and creatures promised to return the following spring to this pond which overlooks an alpine valley to the south. Anticipating the forecast light-dusting of that autumn's first snow, he made a small campfire, warmed some freeze dried trail chili, and, just as the sun disappeared over Carson Pass to the west, when he climbed into his well-worn sleeping bag he met Deja', for the very first time.
