Frederick the Great in Color Gary Schreckengost

In 1895, the celebrated Prussian military artists Carl Roechling and Richard Knoetel were commissioned by His Imperial German Majesty William II to create drawings for a commemorative book on the life of one of his ancestors, Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. The book is entitled Der Alte Fritz in 50 Bildern für Jung und Alt (Old Freddy in 50 Pictures for the Young and Old) and its text was written by Paul Kittel. The fifty color plates from this book have been reproduced here.
