John's Gospel

...we walk through the first three chapters of John's Gospel. This is a verse-by-verse journey. John one shares a composite of what the entire gospel is about in the first five verses, that Jesus is the full express of God. We meet the baptizer, the emcee (and 1st cousin) who introduces the Lamb of God to the world. We're also introduced to a few every-day guys who interact with the simple Nazarene and begin a life upon which no man ever tread. John two takes us to a wedding in Cana where The Word's first recorded miracle occurs. One would think the miracle would save a life or bring health to the diseased. Instead, he demonstrates how he'll cleanse humanity, though his own blood. Secondly, we see the same chap from low-income Nazareth take command in the Temple-as though he owns it-and cleans house. John three introduces us to a wealthy religious leader who acknowledges the connection this commoner has with Almighty God. In that discussion, we hear the absolute call from the Word. We merely begin to see God's desire to be the whole of one's life, not just a part. In addition, we witness an awesome example of what one's life is like when choosing to follow the Nazarene with utter abandonment.
