Hootie Owl is a heartwarming story about an old man and his next-door neighbor boy and an old owl. The old man lives by himself, and his animals are his family, but one day, he finds the owl injured by pellets and goes to confront his neighbor about his son. What transpires brings two families together to heal an injured owl. The story is about having morals and respect for animals as well as others. It also shows that you can't judge a book by its cover. By the end of the story, the boy learns a lot about the old man.
