The Great Boat Race Christoff Orr
The Great Boat Race
Christoff Orr
During the early days of WWII, British and French troops were surrounded and completely cut off, trapped around the city of Dunkirk. Thousands of Englishmen crewed hundreds of "Little Ships" and risked everything to rescue Allied troops. With their world falling apart all around them, these men didn't need a uniform to answer the call to arms. Sailing from ports all around England, the nearly 700 "Little Ships" raced across the English Channel towards Dunkirk to help pull off one of the greatest wartime feats. They were referred to as "Little Ships," but there was nothing little when it came to their courage and honor. The Great Boat Race is a tribute to the fighting spirit of those "Little Ships."
