An unfortunate accident has left Jacob Arrowood, lost and alone in what he first assumes is the Alaskan wilderness. Just a few days earlier, he had felt like the luckiest man alive, living the number one item on his bucket list, a dream come true that quickly changed into a nightmare. He knows people have to be looking for him, but knows now that they will be searching in the wrong location. With winter fast approaching, he is well aware that his chances of survival are slim, and to make matters worse, he soon learns that something is following him.
