Colm is travelling with his friend, Dagomar, who happens to be a dragon, but now Colm has disappeared. Tan is trying to rule a country rising from the ashes of civil war but someone, somewhere, is destroying all that they rebuild. Aelwyn and Qea know all is not well but their new home is peaceful. Summoned to help stop the evil that is rising from the very earth itself, they discover just how badly their country has been infected by the evil that rises from the Lines. Anelm and Petre are out of their depth when faced with the monsters and demons that now walk through the land of Sannan. No one seems to be able to stop the destruction, the madness. They need Colm, but he is in prison in a different country, far from the source of the evil and unable to communicate with even a visiting mouse. Is the mage who holds him in his dungeons responsible for the destruction, or is it someone even further away?
