72 Days of Gloria Lee Gary Koz Mraz
72 Days of Gloria Lee
Gary Koz Mraz
Gloria Lee Byrd died on December 3rd 1962 at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC. Authorities initially attributed Gloria's death to starvation; she had not eaten for 72 days. Hedy Ewing Hood, Byrd's constant companion, was arrested and then institutionalized for alleged involuntary manslaughter. What you are about to read is Hedy Hood's personal account of those 72 days, never before published. "The True Story of Hedy Hood: Seventy-two day fast of Gloria Lee Byrd and The Reconstruction of the Cell Make-up by Space Beings". Hedy bequeathed me the original, yet unpublished 94 page document that has been in my possession for over 30 years. It seemed appropriate to publish it in the original form, undated, hand typed, mistakes and typos included. As a journalist; I felt a personal responsibility to let her story be told.
