Hairstylist Debbie McRoberts grew up in a town that is no longer there. Although her house and other physical landmarks are long gone, Debbie can still make the four-hour drive and reminisce.



One thing she fondly remembers is all the different haircuts she chose for herself as a teenager. Soon, Debbie wasn't content to just style her own hair. She wanted to make it her career.



Debbie loves stories as much as she loves memories, and this new memoir chronicles her own journey to becoming a professional stylist and some of the more interesting, kooky, and downright bizarre customers who have sat in her chair. Her clients in Portland, Oregon, have some stories to tell...



From the first day of beauty school to her current salon, Debbie has always looked for the laughter in the little moments. Her clients have obliged and graciously shared their lives with her. Debbie has an ear for the strange stories but also a genuine love for her regulars. Throughout the humorous moments, Debbie shows just how important hairstyling is to her and the passion and dedication that took her out of her small-town life and into big-city dreams.
