The time the turbulent 1930's, the place a bitterly divided world struggling for and against empires, of peoples following dreams and nurturing bitter resentments. In Palestine the British Mandate to govern is being tested by Jews and Arabs alike. Troubles in Europe spill into Palestine, with hundreds of thousands of Jews entering the land.
