Deuteronomy Songbook is a 69 page collection of 43 new Christian songs based on the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, and designed specifically for the worship service in lead sheet format with lyrics, melody and chord symbols that can easily be used by worship team leaders and members in an onstage band of vocalists, guitar, keyboard, bass and percussion. All the songs in the book are licensed with Christian Copyright International (CCLI) and have royalty numbers assigned to them for reports of usage worldwide in the catalog - The King's Court. The lyrics are available for download and church projection on a screen at ccli.com. My goal in writing this songbook is to carry on the relevancy of God's message to all His people of the earth in light of the New Testament. I freely took these Old Testament themes and tried to give a current Christian perspective to the ancient text because God's message is still valid in all generations since Christ came to fulfill the Law not to abolish it. This edition is designed specifically for guitarists, keyboard players and bass players who prefer a lead sheet format. All songs are arranged with a maximum of a 2 page layout to accommodate performance in church services. The songs are arranged by following the layout of the book of Deuteronomy itself from beginning to the end. Related Christian lyrics are freely entered into these Old Testament themes carrying the message of Christ and revealing how the heart of God and His love for His chosen people can be experienced afresh today. In reference to the key structure of the songs, I chose keys that the worship team leaders, soloist and wherever applicable, the congregation can sing, and the average to skilled musician can play. The bass note is included at the bottom of chord symbols if needed. Instrumental introductions and interludes are marked in the scores, and are intended for the piano, or any appropriate available instrument. These short themes may be raised or lowered an octave to accommodate the instrument desired. It is hoped that these songs will be used in church services, bible studies, evangelistic concerts, Christian schools & camps, and any function where the Body of Christ gathers for praise to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
