Harper and Joey grew up best friends. They were both broken in different ways, but they were drawn to each other and formed a great friendship. After high school, Harper left to escape her inner demons while Joey remained, missing his best friend. Harper never felt like she belonged or was loved. She was a foster kid who bounced around until she was eight-years old. Though the Mitchell's took good care of her, and a boat load of other foster kids, she never felt like it was real. Without feeling like she could love, she found attention in other ways. Joey grew up with an alcoholic father and being with Harper felt like his escape. Over time, he developed feelings for her and was heartbroken when she moved away. When Harper finally returned home, Joey was still angry at her for leaving. However, it didn't take long for her to break down his defenses. He wanted to love her forever, despite her attention seeking ways in high school, but she didn't know how to love. Could she learn to love him? Did she grow out of her high school ways? Will they become best friends? Lovers? Or walk away from it all?
