"To face something in the informal sense is to directly consume it. To take something in with no assistance. College is a time where many people "face" things: blunts, joints, liquor straight from the bottle. Normal shit. It is also a time where many face, in the formal sense, challenges on the way to becoming real adults." Parties, racism, class conflict, basketball, domestic terrorism...college! Facing a Bottle of Henny is a collection of stories and thoughts from my time at the University of St. Thomas, an odd place to grow into a resilient Black American.
