The Mississippi 12th Infantry Regiment was assembled at Corinth, Mississippi, in May, 1861. It was sent first to Union City, Tennessee to participate in Polk's Campaign there, but was soon transferred to Virginia where it participated in every major battle, surrendering at Appomattox.
