This is a book about raising your children to be responsible, to have good self-esteem, a strong work ethic, and a rock-solid moral compass. Sometimes before you can raise your kids, you have to re-raise yourself. This is a self-help book, about becoming a rugged individualist, an independent thinker, and a leader of leaders. This book was written from the perspective of a natural law libertarian, with influence from our founding fathers, Ayn Rand, Ron Paul, free market economics, and a belief that people can achieve great things if they are willing to try. What is the goal of a good parent? You want your kiddos to be better than you, not to make the same mistakes that you have made, to be successful and self-supporting, and to have a beautiful and fulfilling life. You want what is best for your children, but there is much more to be a good person than just living a happy life. You can judge a man by the range of his time horizon. The longer the plans and goals, the more forethought in one's life. Rugged Individualists have a strong purpose in life. They know why they are here. Knowing what you want from life is the first step in getting what you want from life. Rugged Individualists are not passive but proactive. This is more than just a parenting book. This book is what I wanted to teach my own children. This book is about how to take control of your own life and remold yourself as you see fit. This book is about seeing past dogmatic belief structures and viewing the world with reality being your governing agent. In many ways, this is a self-help book on how to be a Rugged Individualist.
