Eddy, and her sister, Dory, are traveling to China to visit their archaeologist mother, when a bad storm causes their plane to crash into the sea. Dory is lost in the ocean. Eddy wakes in the hospital and cannot believe her sister, Dory, has drowned. With courage, and the help of an ancient book sent to her by her father before his mysterious death, Eddy sets out to prove everyone is wrong, and Dory is still alive. When she deciphers the ancient book, it gives her the commands to control Dory's magical Purple Kitty, and the Purple Kitty then leads her on a path of discovery and adventure.
