PREFACE Folks, I am already 93 years old, at this writing, and I have written 40 other books, the last seven written (my Legacy books) in one month's duration, in April, 2017 --- a complete list of which is printed at the back of this book. This volume "These Made Me Smile" is the 41st and may be the last I will write. It is the first book on which I spent two tiring months writing, May and June, 2017, because I did not write a great part of it. Others did, illiterates all, writing in the Internet, exactly as they write their cell phone texts and email, in broken abbreviated fractured pidgin English, badly spelled, and without formatting. I spent hours of my time trying to make sense out of their regurgitated crap. The first part of this book consists mostly of snippets from my other books, essays, newspaper columns, radio and TV broadcasts. Most are original. A few were contributed by my cousin Sylvia Lichauco de Leon. At the very least, they are written in good readable understandable English. I have many more stories that I should have contributed to this book, but I stopped myself, because if I included them, this book will run to over 2,000 pages, and it would not serve the intent of this book, which is to give the reader an over-all view of the kind of thinking that is invading the contemporary scene in the Internet, in this Information Age wherein we live.
