Sixteen-year-old Shain Moore lives in a small, religious town in southwestern Tennessee aptly named Deliverance. It's an average American town, picturesque and secluded, that was built on conservative principles. Shain loves her life there with her family and friends and can't imagine living anywhere else. But looks can be deceiving. The town has a mysterious and dark past. In the previous century, all the inhabitants of Deliverance suddenly disappeared one day without a trace, and no one ever discovered why. Since the age of five, Shain has been seeing and hearing things that others in town don't, and the experiences intensify after the death of her mother. Terrifying things she can't understand, explain or control. Despite the encounters Shain has all too frequently, she goes about her life as if these things don't exist. Until one day, on the anniversary of the disappearance, darkness falls over the small town bringing with it destruction, death, and an evil presence.
