The Independence process is one of the essential factors that led to the emergence of the CAUDILLO as a figure of political and social power in Latin America during the nineteenth century, and which certainly survives at the present time as a democratic leader, thus gaining power, and in it is maintained thanks to the national militarism. Why is Latin America still ... and will it remain ... an "UNDERDEVELOPED" region and at least "IN DEVELOPING"? Simple. To continue its majority accepting CAUDILLISMO as an exercise of political power. This historical essay thus contributes to a better understanding of current reality.
