Who is Sylvia? Many have asked that same question over the years. Known as 'The Ice Princess' ever since her high school years, Sylvia O'Donnell, the tall, athletic, and remarkably beautiful young woman has been the romantic objective of many men, and probably some women; however, she is unapproachable by anyone outside her family. She is Jo and Mike O'Donnell's youngest daughter. There is one man who fell in love with unapproachable Sylvia while he was an undergraduate student at the University of California Davis. Phillip Esterházy makes a friendly wager with a friend that she is the woman he's going to marry. There is this problem, though. He is three years younger and four inches shorter than the 6' 2" statuesque blonde Sylvia. At least that is the excuse Sylvia seems to rely on quite a bit. More than six years later, an old friend calls Phil to tell him that his ideal woman is working in Yosemite National Park. Phil recently received his PhD, and will be starting to teach at a northern California College. He decides he has nothing to lose, and he takes the trip to Yosemite to see his old friend and to see who this ideal woman is. Of course it's Sylvia. Phil is pleasantly surprised to find out she remembers him; however, there are ghosts, and one of them is an evil, murderous man from both their pasts. It is not going to be an easy time for either of them. For Sylvia, there is another ghost, and it will take the combined efforts of her sisters and mother before that ghost can be eradicated. One ghost will reappear in future novels and it will haunt Sylvia's older brother and sister for most of their lives. Beware, there is some pretty intense love making.
