Women in Indian culture have been victims of violence and oppression for centuries, where even today the practice of dowry prevails despite stringent laws. Kalpana, an Indian girl grew up in India during the freedom struggle, and later moved to England. She returns to India with dreams of helping the women of her country lead better lives. She embarks on a mission to empower women in India. She falls in love with an Englishman. Kalpana takes us on a journey of love and empowerment as she corrects the ills of society with love, passion and kindness.
