Phil's wife has transferred her consciousness into a new body, and what's more, has talked him into doing the same. But Phil wakes up in the middle of the operation to find that the part of his mind that has transferred has beaten him to his own identity. Worse yet, his brain is now damaged: if he falls asleep, he won't wake up!
