Contributor Bio: Perreault, Robert B Since 1973, Manchester native Robert B. Perreault has worked in various capacities--chief research assistant and oral history interviewer for Tamara K. Hareven and Randolph Langenbach, authors of Amoskeag: Life and Work in an American Factory-City; librarian-archivist of L'Association Canado-Americaine and assistant editor of Le Canado-Americain; freelance writer, public speaker, historical tour guide and photographer--all to promote his hometown's history as well as New England Franco-American culture. His affiliation with the New Hampshire Humanities Council, first as a project co-humanist and later as a humanist, Humanities-To-Go scholar and book discussion leader, dates back to 1981. His works of nonfiction and fiction, written in French, English or both languages, include five books and more than 150 articles, essays and short stories published in the United States, French Canada or France. He is the author of a French-language novel, L'Heritage (1983), whose setting is Manchester's Franco-American community. His most recent book, Manchester (2005), is part of Arcadia Publishing's Postcard History Series. In 1994, the Manchester Historic Association presented him with its Historic Preservation Award for his "Dedication and Commitment to the Preservation of Historic Resources in the City of Manchester, New Hampshire." He holds a master's degree in French with specialization in New England Franco-American Studies from Rhode Island College (1981) and is a member of the first graduating class in Southern New Hampshire University's Master of Fine Arts in Fiction and Nonfiction program (2008). Since 1988, he has taught conversational French in the Native Speaker program at his undergraduate alma mater, Saint Anselm College in Manchester.
