It has been over 30 years since Margaret Hillert introduced children all over the world to Dear Dragon. These highly acclaimed tiles have captured the imaginations of beginning readers and helped them on the way to independent reading. Now Ms. Hillert has written new stories about our favorite pet dragon! As with the original stories, the new ones also provided practice reading high frequency words in context. The many additional details in the pictures enhance the story and offer the opportunity to expand oral language and develop comprehension.

This library edition includes an instructional note to caregivers, a word list, and activities to promote reading success. The activities support reading and comprehending the text and are aligned to the National Reading Panel's findings.
