Dr. Susan Taylor has worked hard to establish her practice in Cincinnati. She has been perfectly happy devoting her life to helping people, and at twenty-seven years old, she has fulfilled her dreams. Unexpectedly, she becomes involved in the lives of a brother and sister who are in danger from a drug cartel that had the children's parents murdered. An instant attraction to a tough uncover cop sends her innocence into a tailspin. The two begin an extraordinary venture of heart stopping love when the airplane taking Susie and the kids to their aunt and uncle's home in Canada is sabotaged. The plan was to kill the only witnesses to the murder. Surviving the crash, Susie must figure out a way to keep everyone alive in the harsh Canadian wilderness. Her Appalachian upbringing serves her well as she draws upon her Grandma Tanny's Cherokee ways to provide shelter and food during their adventures in the hostile environment. But can her emotions survive the onslaught of primitive desires evoked by the handsome detective? She has never been in love and is finding out that there is much more to the physical and emotional world than just surviving; there is living! Tonia Hopson resides in Phelps, Kentucky, with her husband, Roger. She is an instructional supervisor for the Pike County School System, the largest geographic school district east of the Mississippi River.
