The Reawakening
K. D. Richardson
Herman Tate was a focused man. During his seventy-five years, success was his only goal, and he never saw failure as an option. Unfortunately, spiritual serenity eluded him during his personal life and he developed a bitter heart as a result. Following one of his many rounds of golf, Herman suffers a minor stroke and is rushed to the hospital. When he regains consciousness, he insists that he isn't Herman Tate, but a man named Jim Goldman, and he can prove it if given the chance. Herman is able to recite Jim's entire life's resume and is anxious to get back to his 'real' life and his real wife, Anne. As Jim, Herman is a likable man and a joy to be around, but his family can't handle the change and is in a rush to have him institutionalized. Jim's only ally and hope is his son-in-law, Paul, a man Herman Tate despised.
