Publisher Marketing: WHEN AM I A MAN? This question is one that millions of boys from every generation across our nation will ask themselves at one time of another. Is it when you have your first drink, or your first sexual encounter? Our western culture has lost the art of defining a time when boys become men and many young males are left to their own devices trying to find and prove their manhood, sometimes with devastating consequences. Adolescence has robbed our boys of this rite of passage and the result is we have generation after generation of 'men' who have never grown up. It is vital the issue of manhood is adequately answered in a male's life in order to release him from perpetual doubt caused by false expectations, cultural norms and distorted imagery generated from popular media such as TV, movies and music. Man Up and the associated program have been written to help in this transition of 'calling the man out of the boy'. It has been developed out of a passion to facilitate a positive and long lasting impression with on flowing effects upon the individual, the family and the community. From first-hand experience rather than from the halls of academia, Man Up tackles issues from a practical viewpoint and encourages implementation of principles. Rodney Bortolin is the Senior Minister of LifeSource Church in Griffith, NSW since 2002. A wide variety of experiences have given him an unique insight into the adventurous journey called life and it is his passion to encourage others to the best they were created to be. Rodney lives with his wife Janitos and have one child and loves keeping fit, being outdoors and watching movies and sporting events.
