What could be echoing out of the 'mountain' of found-artifacts from the devastated, earthquake- ravaged land of Lone Moon Creek? In the heaped pile of 'antiques' are actual items used by the people from that community including much older relics from ancestors. Extensive research goes into solving "the rest of the story" when the college class is informed about the possibility of a documentary being made from their "historical dig."

With the collaboration between the history students and the art, engineering and music majors, the entire storage barn at the college is converted into a virtual "Lone Moon Creek"! High tech dioramas are created to the delight of Professor Ashton and the young men and women who were responsible for exhuming objects from the muck and mire, weeds and thorns, water and chasms.

Are the personal lives of Jag, Naomi, Simon and Willow running parallel to their project? Jag is discovering more about his family's past; Naomi is using her compassion not only of the disinterred objects but also for Jag; Simon and Willow, in bringing together the wayward artifacts, have themselves united in marriage.

Now, in Book Nine, we see more of how history can quickly lash out in unexpected directions as Naomi's tolerance suddenly runs thread barren when Jag's inheritance threatens to ruin their relationship.

Find how Rojo and Steffie from 'The Elizabeth House' bring about a new leaf in Jag's life that he never experienced before.

Would it be possible that the once living, thriving people of the obliterated community would be proud of this college class in rescuing their lost belongings? We don't really know ...but we hope they would be pleased in seeing that little parts of their lives were preserved with dignity.
