Beyond the Horizon: Managing Mad Waves with Little Oars
Varindra Kumar Varma
The poems of this collection are an expression of Indian thought, showing that the power of human resource is extraordinary. A boatman with a little oar can row his boat safely along dangerously rising waves if he is resourceful, self-confident, calm, patient, bold, and self-disciplined. We can, and we must, keep up hope and smile even in moments of helplessness. It is time that man discovers he is losing his "Self" with the changing times. With the loss of peace there is frustration. Man is beginning to lose two of his innate gifts: hope and smile. Man craves peace, but lives in tension. Living life with a negative attitude is intolerable. We cannot allow humans to lose their goodness, nor can we afford to lose the two precious gifts of hope and smile. We may sometimes feel helpless, but we must not give up hope. We must realize the power of human resource and preserve human sensibility. The author believes that he who recognizes his potential and possesses human sensibility can never be a defeated person. Given the present atmosphere, he made these ideas the theme of his poetry collection. Varindra Kumar Varma is an acclaimed Hindi writer who lives in Bilaspur, India. He was a professor and head of a philosophy department until he retired in 1995. He did some research on the logic of language, which prompted him to write an English grammar supplement in Hindi and A Grammar Guide to Clear and Correct Expression to help learners cultivate language sense and develop understanding of language use. He has authored a book on literary criticism and three collections of poetry. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/VarindraKumarVarma
