The Superconscious Mind is just a theory, discovered by a young boy living on a family farm just West of Atlanta. His Mother is kind and loving, constantly protecting him from his mentally disturbed and abusive Father, who beats him daily with a thick black belt he calls, "the black medicine." This young boy, Jack Diamond, eventually becomes Doctor Jack Diamond, He graduates from Emory Medical School, earning a Board Certification in Psychiatry and a minor in Hypnotherapy. He opens his first office in the Emory Medical Complex. We are introduced to many of Doctor Diamond's patients who follow Jack's therapies that are individually designed to ease their discomfort. We follow Jack, as he tries to prove to the medical world that his Superconscious Mind Theory exists, and can be used to minimize psychotically induced behavior. When he's an undergraduate, Jack falls in love with the book's second protagonist, Doctor Laura Williams. She is born with a genius mind and is eventually appointed by the President of the United States to be the Laboratory Director at the CDC (Center for Disease Control) in Atlanta. A deadly pathogen breaks out in Cuba that could possibly depopulate the Earth. It's her responsibility to save the world. Both physicians endure obstacles along the way.....trying to make a difference in the ever changing practice of medicine. Warning: Do not read this book within one hour of bed time without a doctor's permission..... It could cause significant sleep deprivation disorder.
