Kindergarteners provide a perfect and easy to understand example of how children react to their first-time learning experiences around school. So, it is very important that when children are experiencing something for the first time, that experience should be positive, pleasant and meaningful. That's why it's so important that we adults help them to understand and relate these experiences to their lives. When children first come to school, they are so excited, and they just want to have fun. If you can make their learning experiences interesting and fun, you are setting them up for a school experience that will be a learning banquet for them and will give them an insatiable appetite for learning.

My name is Jerry Harwood and I'm a retired teacher and school bus driver. I have lived, worked, and joked with elementary school children for most of my life.
