After reading about the Egyptian dynasties, especially the sciences aspects with emphasis on the life and contributions of Imhotep, my primary interests became knowing more regarding the preservation and conservations of the mummies. That moved from wanting to know more about the ancient Egyptian physicians, pharmacists and on to the professionals extracting teeth as well as those inventing the methods and techniques of pulling them. The author continued investigating the life and medical discoveries of African and African-American physicians from the past and present. In doing so, it was realized that there were doctors who were inventors and nurses who had become doctors. The more that was read, the more that it was discovered that there were pharmacists who were physicians, and physicians being politicians as well as funeral directors. Regardless, the Africans were inventing, even though many of them were not able to obtain patents. Nevertheless, they did not stop being creative. Periodically, a free-slave (a crazy term), with limited mobility, was able to get a patent.
